If you’ve ever met Lisa Linkowsky, owner of the Central New Jersey BirthdayPak Franchise, it’s easy to understand why she’s so deserving of being named the July Franchisee of the Month. Her passion for BirthdayPak and hard work ethic are evident after speaking with her for just a few minutes.
Lisa lives in Mercer County, NJ with her husband and two children. After working from home part-time for 10 years while raising her children, Lisa decided she was ready for the next challenge. Around the same time, she received a BirthdayPak in the mail. Lisa was immediately intrigued by the high-end design of the product and great deals offered inside. Even after using the gift cards at her favorite local restaurants and retailers, Lisa still couldn’t get BirthdayPak off her mind. Wanting to learn more about the business, she sent the company her résumé and was thrilled to learn that they were seeking franchise partners.
“At first, I had a million questions about the opportunity,” says Lisa. “But as I talked with Michael Marchesani, the CEO and founder of BirthdayPak, it became clear that this was a really smart business model and something that would be a great fit for my background and lifestyle. I was really energized about the opportunity own my own business, and the fact that I could continue to work out of my home and set my own hours was a huge perk. Most of all, I was excited about the chance to be a part of something that I really think is groundbreaking and unique.”
Lisa completed her BirthdayPak Training in October, and officially became the owner of the Central New Jersey franchise in May 2014. She is already sending out BirthdayPaks in five of her 13 zones, and expects to have two more up and running by this fall.
Lisa says she’s receiving great feedback from her sponsors. “I had one new restaurant owner tell me it’s the only advertising he’s doing because it’s been so successful in bringing in new customers that are returning time and time again. Another more established restaurant told me BirthdayPak has been serving as a great reminder to locals who say they love the eatery but had forgotten about it over the years.”
When asked about her favorite part of her job, Lisa says, “I really enjoy meeting with prospective sponsors face-to-face. When I show a prospect BirthdayPak for the first time they are always impressed. And because I own my business, advertisers can feel my passion and see that I’m invested in making their experience with BirthdayPak a positive one.”
As much as Lisa enjoys the independence of running her own business, she also appreciates the support of the BirthdayPak Corporate team. “The resources they provide have been key in helping me to be successful,” says Lisa. “They are always willing to answer questions and are open to my ideas. I also appreciate how well they handle customer communications and interactions.”
Congratulations to Lisa for this well-deserved recognition!
